GRE Reschedule Fees

GRE Exam Cancellation Fees

As has been mentioned above, all those candidates who want to cancel their GRE exam must do so no later than four days before their test date. After which, they will receive a refund equivalent to half of the GRE test fee. Keep in mind, there will be

Steps to Book GRE General Test Centre in India

You can find GRE test centres in many cities across India. To register for the GRE and schedule your test, you’ll need to visit the Educational Testing Service (ETS) website. When you schedule your test, you’ll be able to select your test centre location.
Here are the steps:

Step 1: Candidates need to click the hyperlink labelled “View test centres, test dates and seat availability.”

Step 2: You must select the GRE test format from the first drop-down list, choosing either the GRE General test or a specific GRE Subject test. In the second drop-down list, you have to type the desired location where they wish to take
the GRE test.

Step 3: Upon selecting the location, a section titled ‘Find test dates within this two-month period’ appears, showing dates for the next two months. Candidates can scroll ahead to view dates for future months as well.

Step 4 (optional): If applicable, candidates can enter a ‘Restricted Reservation Code,’ though this step is optional.

Step 5: By clicking the ‘Find available GRE test centres and dates’ button, the following information is displayed:

• Calendars for the selected months show available dates in green and unavailable dates in grey, with the chosen dates highlighted in orange.
• A Google map of the selected city with marked test centres.
• A list of all available dates and days beneath the calendar.

Step 6: Clicking on a date reveals a list of available centres and their addresses in the city for that date. The page also indicates whether the test centre offers a computer-based or paper-based test. There are clickable directions
to the centre and a ‘show test times’ option.

Step 7: Selecting ‘Show Test Times’ displays the available test times along with seat availability in green and provides a link to register for the GRE Test on that specific date.

Instructions for GRE Test Centres in India

ETS outlines the rules and regulations for taking the GRE General Test at a test centre on its official website, Here are some rules and regulations to be followed at a GRE test centre:

• Candidates must bring a valid and accepted ID.
• Candidates must sign a confidentiality and regulations agreement.
• Candidates may need to enter their details in a log maintained by the test centre.
• Scratch paper will be provided for use during the test and must be returned afterwards.
• There is an optional ten-minute break after the third section of the GRE General Test.
• An onscreen calculator is available during the Quantitative Reasoning section; personal calculators are not permitted.
• Candidates should raise their hands for any questions during the exam.
• After the test, candidates can choose to report or cancel their scores based on their performance.

The GRE Exam pattern is based on two types: Computer-based pattern and Paper-based pattern. The paper-based pattern is not available in India where you can only give the test in a computer-based pattern. GRE Paper-based pattern is available in

Paper Based Pattern

The GRE Paper-based pattern has little variation compared to the computer-based as the sections and the duration vary in it. The candidate must prepare for the GRE exam keeping in mind the duration and the topics they are going to face in the

There is a difference in duration in both the patterns as the computer-based pattern is of 3 hours 45 minutes and the paper-based pattern is of 3 hours 30 minutes. However, the paper-based pattern does not contain research and unscored sections.

GRE Subject Test Exam Pattern 2024

The GRE subject test is conducted for a single subject to understand the skills and understanding of the candidate. They are conducted every year at the selected exam centers in April, September, and October. Currently, there are only four GRE
subjects that are available that are Physics, Mathematics, Biology, and Psychology. The topics of the exam are according to the subjects given such as the mathematics section includes algebra, calculus, set theory, etc. Similarly, chemistry
GRE has topics such as organic, inorganic chemistry, etc.

Type of Questions GRE Exam

The different kinds of questions are there in the GRE that vary from each section. Paper-based and computer-based have the same type of questions in each section. However, there are no reading comprehension select-in passage questions in the paper-based

Verbal Reasoning

The verbal Reasoning section consists of three main topics that are sentence equivalence, Reading Comprehension, and Text Completion in the GRE exam. The reading comprehension includes multiple choices in which you have to choose one correct answer
out of five options. RC also includes MCQ in which all the correct answers are to be selected and the select-in passage question where a sentence in the passage is chosen that matches a specific description. However, the questions of sentence
equivalence include six options with one blank in a single sentence. Finally, the text completion sub-section includes a passage with three blanks along with three options to choose from.

Quantitative Reasoning

There are four types of questions in the Quantitative Reasoning section of the GRE exam pattern which are given below:

• MCQ with one choice of answer
• MCQ with more than one choice of answer.
• Numeric entry-type questions where you have to solve the question and write the final answer.
• Quantitative Comparison questions

Analytical Writing

The Analytical Writing section mainly includes two kinds of tasks that are
